3D printed fashion

Iris van Herpen, a Dutch fashion designer, is experimenting with a technology that is normally used for rapid prototyping in industrial design: 3D printing. Her skeleton-like bolero doesn’t look too comfortable, but this way of designing and manufacturing clothes will definitely bring new aspects to the field of fashion in the future. Let’s see which materials and technologies fashion designers are going to explore next time…
Parts of van Herpen’s collection will be shown at an exhibition which opens next week at Israel’s Design Museum Holon.
